Our story: from Fortaleza to Ushuaia, then Taíba
Before we hosted travellers, we were travellers: 18 countries and 75,000 km by motorhome across the Americas.
Volta ao mundo.
A house built by travellers
That is where the restaurant's name comes from. In May 1996, Jean-Luc and Nadia sold everything, bought a motorhome in Miami and headed south. The dining room of the Volta ao Mundo restaurant keeps the objects brought back from those roads.
Today the house has become a beachfront ecolodge pousada, with suites without air-con and a kite spot right below the garden.

Leaving Fortaleza. Motorhome bought in Miami, then south all the way to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world.
18 countries, 75,000 km. A 4,670 m pass in the Bolivian Andes, closed borders, a single flat tyre.
The restaurant opens: Volta ao Mundo, in Taíba.
Listed in Guia Quatro Rodas, Brazil's reference travel guide.
The kitesurfers arrive. Taíba joins the circuit, European riders follow from 2003.
New family journeys: Australia by motorhome, then Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
9.6 / 10: Booking.com Guest Review Award for the pousada.
Wegokite becomes an ecolodge. Zero air-con, tempered air, a protected spring, 100% home-made food.
